William Dennis Cobb

6/27/1948 - 5/4/2024

William Cobb, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, embraced his final rest on May 4, 2024. Born on June 27, 1948, in Louisville, KY, to Albert and Margie Cobb, William leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that touched the lives of all who knew him.

In the heart of his family, William is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Cobb, his cherished son, Russell Cobb, and his dear brother Tony Cobb and sister-in-law Lydia. Though he bid farewell to his infant daughter, Jessica Cobb, in a previous chapter of his life, his memory lives on through those he loved dearly.

A veteran of the Navy from 1966 to 1970, William served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, extending his care and expertise in a Marine's mash type hospital, where he aided in surgeries for facial wounds, demonstrating both courage and compassion in the face of adversity.

In his professional journey, William's dedication and hard work were evident, from his tenure at Belknap Hardware to his leadership at Quality Home Services, a company he owned and eventually sold before retiring. His career also took him through the corridors of National City Bank/National Processing Company, U.S. Road and Rail, and PNC Bank, where his commitment and integrity left a lasting impression.

Beyond his professional pursuits, William found solace and joy in the company of friends on the golf course, particularly relishing the camaraderie shared with his companions. His passion for angling was equally profound, as he treasured every moment spent casting lines alongside his beloved son, Russ. Retirement afforded William and Patricia the opportunity to explore the world together, creating cherished memories along the way.

William's warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and his absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever resonate in the lives he touched, a testament to his gentle soul and unwavering love.

A service honoring William's life will be held at The Chapel in the Woods on May 15, 2024.

The Chapel in the Woods:1407 Moser Road, Louisville, KY, with visitation commencing at noon and the service following at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Tunnel to Towers, St. Jude's Hospital, Southeast Christian Church, or Hosparus in William's memory would be greatly appreciated, continuing his legacy of compassion and care for others.

Bill , Bob Elbert, Jeff Senn and I took the train to New Orleans when we turned 18 years of age. It was a very interesting trip. We had a lot of fun. Bill had a very nice wit about him. Always seem to be smiling. We will miss him.
